One of the finest presents that a lady can get in her life is that treasured ring that her loving gentleman offers to her when he requests her hand in marriage. When the woman accepts the band, it becomes a formal symbol of a future marriage and a new stage in the couple’s lives.
Diamond engagement rings come in several forms, styles, and shapes. However, the heart of the ring, the diamond itself, is organized into merely three main sorts of cuts: brilliant cut, step cut, and mixed cut. But are you aware that years past and in modern times, more styles of cuts are introduced?
Vintage Cuts
1. Old Mine Cut
This cut style is in a square form. However, the corners are subtly rounded, and the stone is decorated with brilliant-cut style facets. Generally, the crown is high, the table is small, and the cullet is large that it can be seen through the table.
2. Old European Cut
An Old European cut diamond is somewhat the same to one with an Old Mine cut. However, the gemstone is round rather than square.
3. Cushion Cut
A gemstone with a Cushion cut resembles an Old Mine cut, but the gemstone is more rectangular in shape rather than square.
4. Rose Cut
A graceful cutting style, a Rose Cut diamond bears a semblance to an inverted brilliant cut gemstone with the cullet at the top and the table at the bottom. Its brilliant-type facets are positioned to resemble a rosebud.
Newer Cuts
1. Crisscut
A gemstone with a crisscut design incorporates lots of crisscrossed facets to improve the jewel’s brilliance.
2. Leo
Not really a a cut style but more of a choice of stones, Leo diamonds are measured and certified for their high reflectivity, an aspect of brilliance.
3. Quadrillion
This is a square-shaped cut with sharply angled corners. The main key of this style of cut is the set of 49 facets that are smartly arranged to create a star-shaped effect at the centre of the gemstone.
4. Trielle
A gemstone with a Trielle cut is triangular. It is cut and polished in such a way that it seems more impressive than its implied carat weight.
When you’re in a jewellery store searching for engagement rings, diamond earrings, and other jewellery, try selecting jewellery featuring these rare cuts.
